Why am I writing on this. It happened a year ago and I went their to fulfill a birdwatching itch that I first got about twenty five years ago.
I went by myself to a country were a lot of Spanish is spoken. A lot of refried beans and rice are eaten, and the cofee is actually quite good even when it is bad.
I did see lots of new birds. Some of the best birds I saw were from while I was waiting to eat a meal each day at LaSelva Biological Station. They had a neat garden that attracted bids and their was quite a migration of raptors from the porch of LaSelva on two days.
I must add that the howler monkeys, and collared peccaries, that I almost stepped on, were pretty scary and neat.
I did see Scarlet McCaws from my tent at Corcovado; maybe 6 times. I would go to Costa Rica just for the Mountainous scenery and coffee.
