Fall Bird Migration Picking Up Steam

Today is the official second day of the fall bird migration. Western Tanagers sang from the nearby trees. Downy Woodpeckersand Northern Flicker also sang from the trees nearby. Cedar Waxwings were back and then American Robin sang from the tree tops.

In the ponds nearby there were Mallard Ducks, Cinnamon Teal, Green-winged Teal, coots and Canadian Geese. A Swainsons’s Hawk flew over head and a Kestrel flew by like a bullet.
