The Gulf, An End To Oil Spill And An Long Road To Cleaning Up

I heard news reports by many celebrating the stopping (complete) of any oil flowing in the Gulf of Mexico from the Macondo Well (?). This procedure was called “Bottom Kill. This was a second “Bottom Kill” just in case the first “Bottom Kill on this well did not work.

Concurrently I saw reports on the news that said the well’s oil has stopped flowing but the spills were just starting to be cleaned up…one person said, “the damage from the oil has already happened and we are happy that the oil has stopped leaking but the job of cleaning the mess has just begun.”

I heard this on a report about the fishing economy of the area and I heard this from a person focusing her efforts to clean oil on the marshes and wildlife of the oil spill area.
