Aransas

This is my final post on birding Texas; maybe the best birding destination in North America.
I have read and seen reporting on a lot of scary things in South Texas these days.
I was last in Texas in 2003 ( before the current drug wars began) and on my first trip there I went to Rockport, Texas.
We traveled by boat to Aransas National Wildlife Refuge where we got a great discourse and saw closely, Whooping Cranes. What a great refuge with great looks at a great and rare bird.
As a bonus we saw displayying Gull-billed Terns.` Wsaw a lot of wildlife on that boat trip but I remember the cranes and terns and if birding at Rockport make time for this boat trip; a great adventure for the birder.
